Can our Dry steam units kill COVID-19?
According to Professor Bloomfield from UNLV, “to actively kill the virus [COVID-19] you need temperatures of around 60 degrees [Celsius]”. To be effective, it is important to break down the mucus surrounding the virus and kill it with temperature. Steam is the recommended process for sanitising a viral agent of any soft furnishings or carpet, by the Australian Government, International Cruise Liners Infectious Guidelines and also specifically against Covid-19 recommended by the United Kingdom Government.
Steam Australia’s quality dry steam machines produce steam at >176°C which penetrates deep into the surface leaving surfaces clean, sanitised and dry ready for immediate use. The high temperatures produced by using our steam machines, drastically reduces the contact time required to kill bacteria and viral agents, such as COVID-19.
It is important to deep clean and sanitise high touch points (HTPs) on hard and soft surfaces with the use of dry steam. This is to ensure infection control and is required multiple times per day especially after busy periods. HTP’s include but are not limited to, door handles, chairs, hand railings, sinks/taps, car furnishings and more.
Steam Australia works closely with hospitals in Australia and New Zealand in terms of infection prevention and control. It is important to us that in launching into the domestic sector with the Saphira C8, that quality and performance were not compromised in the process. With quality Italian construction and commercial technology, this machine is built to perform.
Steam Australia recommends the following steam machines:
Domestic – Saphira + Microfibre
Commercial Steam only – SW9 & Microfibre
Commercial Steam and vacuum – Jupiter & Pegaso
